The 2018 Mari Sandoz Symposium will be held September 20-22, 2018 at Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska. All events on Thursday and Friday take place on the Chadron State College campus in Chadron, Nebraska and Saturday morning's session will be held in downtown Chadron at the Bean Broker Coffee House. The conference schedule reflects times in the Mountain Time Zone. The Conference is open to anyone. Registration is required, except for the Pilster Great Plains Lecture and Saturday morning's session that are free and open to the public.

Our Pilster Lecturer in 2018 will be Susan Power (Standing Rock Sioux) and she will be presenting “A Dakota Writer on Stories Powerful Enough to Change the World.” Other speakers include Joe Starita, artists from the Pine Ridge, Judi M. gaiashkibos (Ponca/Santee), Kimberli Lee, Beth Castle and Madonna Thunder Hawk and their documentary, Warrior Women.
