Festival Information

The Story Catcher Festival is FREE and open to the public.  This event takes place at the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center on the Chadron State College Campus on Saturday, June 17th from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm.  The Festival celebrates the work emerging from our writing retreat, promotes writing and creativity in the region, and highlights the achievements of writers or figures associated with writing whose work echoes the spirit of Mari Sandoz. The work of everyone involved in the Story Catcher Writing Workshop, from published authors to beginners, and featuring additional workshop sessions from our Mari Sandoz Emerging Writers, and a keynote presentation by our Poet in Residence, Mark Halliday. This inspirational setting fosters a wonderful writing community focused on exploring the wild terrains of our lives.

All events are free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.
